Install new fonts for KingSoft Office on android!

In this tutorial we will see how to add new fonts on android for KingSoft office. KingSoft office is one of the most popular and advanced software, that allows you to create, edit and view Microsoft office word, excell and PowerPoint documents. For more details visit the official website.
In many situation, some documents on android device isn't shown correctly. This is because there is no the exact font installed on android device and KingSoft  software uses default one. THIS TUTORIAL IS ABOUT ADDING NEW FONTS FOR KINGSOFT OFFICE. WE ARE NOT CHANGING OR ADDING NEW FONT FOR ANDROID OPERATIONAL SYSTEM ITSELF. WE ARE SIMPLY PUTTING THE NEW FONT IN KINGSOFT OFFICE FOLDER TO SEE AND EDIT DOCUMENTS THAT ARE CREATED WITH THIS FONT. AGAIN, THERE IS NO DANGER THAT DEFAULT ANDROID FONTS WILL BE CHANGED.

In this tutorial we will add the font called "AcadNusx.ttf", but the procedure is the same for any font.
The KingsoftOffice, AcadNusx.ttf, and video tutorial is included in archive. The archive can be downloaded below.
1. Install the KingSoft office software
2. Connect your phone to your PC using USB cable
3. Browse your phone memory

IMPORTANT NOTE: IF YOU ARE USING NEW, UPDATED VERSION OF KingsoftOffice:

4. open folder Android\data\cn.wps.moffice_eng\.cache\KingsoftOffice

"eng" means English version of KingsoftOffice. For other language there will be other text.

If there is no such folder, you are using old version of this software. It is recommended to update KingsoftOffice and follow the tutorial. If you you still want to use old version open KingsoftOffice folder.
5. open folder .fonts
6. copy the font you want in this folder. for example copy "acadnusx.ttf"
7. open file called .FONTSCACHE with notepad.
8. add the following near wps_special fonts. see image for details.

FOR NEW VERSION: AcadNusx /storage/sdcard0/Android/data/cn.wps.moffice_eng/.cache/KingsoftOffice/.fonts/acadnusx.ttf
for old version: AcadNusx /storage/sdcard0/KingsoftOffice/.fonts/acadnusx.ttf

Note: the exact directory may be different from AcadNusx /storage/sdcard0/Android/data/cn.wps.moffice_eng/.cache/KingsoftOffice/.fonts. Use the directory that is used for fonts: wps_special 1,2,3, like picture says:

9. save the modified file in your desktop. see picture below for details:
10. Copy newly created file to /storage/sdcard0/Android/data/cn.wps.moffice_eng/.cache/KingsoftOffice/.fonts/ folder. Click Copy and Replace

11. Safely eject the device from PC and you are done!

YOU CAN ADD AS MANY FONTS AS YOU WANT.

This method is tested and works great. If you have any questions feel free to leave a comment. Thank you for reading my tutorial.

  7. Why so complicated? Can't you just do it from your phone? Why the need to just open your PC?

  8. Oh sweet! Thanks so much! Never mind my last comment. I will point out though that one need not use a PC. I guess it was suggested for convenience but as minimalist I consider convenience the ability to do all with as few possible devices and I completed this method with just my phone. Fairly easy and straight forward.

    1. You need a folder called ".cache" (WITH DOT).
      If you are browsing folders using your phone, this folder might be hidden.
      Browse your phone memory using your PC.

  13. If you have file manager(ES File Explorer), then go to settings, and then 'check mark' the 'Show hidden files...'. Now when you go back and look inside the kingsoft folder, you will see both the ".cache" folder and the "cache" folder. The fonts are located in the ".cache" folder.

  15. Hello, all android users! Forget all what is written above. On android version of WPS Office, there is only one simply way to install custom fonts (this is for windows but for others computer os should it work same):
    1. Create a folder in your sd card, named as you want;
    2. connect your device (or sd card only) to the pc;
    3. copy the fonts you want to install from your pc system fonts folder (in windows usually C:/Windows/Fonts; sometimes to see this folder you will have to check the "Show hidden files" option in folders menu) to the folder previously created on sd card

    NOTE: the font files should have .ttf format, other format might be not recognised by the WPS application;

    4. Put the sd card back into your android device;
    5. Go to your device`s file viever and copy the font files to the folder named Fonts, located in the device memory.
    6. YOU`VE DONE IT !

    NOTE: I`ve checked this method on several Huawei devices and it worked properly, so I think that it`ll go also on others android devices. Enjoy :)
